'Lest We Forget'

The following information refers to those soldiers whose names are recorded on the 1914 – 1918 War Memorial in St. Andrew’s Church, Hope Bowdler. The information originally supplied by Lt. Col. John Inglis has been updated by Peter Koenig with due acknowledgement to Tom Leake, Les Lander, and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission ‘Debt of Honour Register.’

No memorial exists at St Andrews Church relating to World War Two because the seven local youths who enlisted thankfully returned safely; however, the grave of Flight Lieutenant John Hope Clark who gave his life can be found in the southern churchyard.
