Private Henry Wilcox1st/4th Bn, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry. Service No. 23572.

Henry Wilcox – the son of John and Harriet Wilcox, of the Yew Tree, Woolstaston, Leebotwood.

Henry Wilcox enlisted in Cardington.

On March 22nd 1918, aged 22, he was killed in action. K.S.L.I regimental history records; 'On March 21st 1918, the great German offensive fell on the 1st Battalion K.S.L.I. opposite Quatt. Two forward companies were almost annihilated. The Battalion was surrounded and the remnants fought their way out with the bayonet.'

He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. Panel Reference Bay 5.
