Although Charles Davies, D.C.M. is not listed on Hope Bowdler’s War Memorial, possibly because he lived at Leebotwood, according to the Absent Voters List for 1918 a Charles Davies did live at Chelmick Farm - it is likely they are the same person. Charles was the son of Mr and Mrs W. R. Davies of Park Gate, Pulverbatch, Shrewsbury.

Charles Davies enlisted in Shrewsbury.

On 7^th June 1918, aged 25, he died of wounds received. He is commemorated at the Soissons Memorial, Aisne, France.
