Sergeant Charles Davies DCM   Print  E-mail

1st/4th Bn. Shropshire Light Infantry. Service No. 15922.

Although Charles Davies, D.C.M. is not listed on Hope Bowdler’s War Memorial, possibly because he lived at Leebotwood, according to the Absent Voters List for 1918 a Charles Davies did live at Chelmick Farm - it is likely they are the same person. Charles was the son of Mr and Mrs W. R. Davies of Park Gate, Pulverbatch, Shrewsbury.

Charles Davies enlisted in Shrewsbury. Sergeant Charles Davies DCM. Soissons Memorial, Aisne, France

On 7th June 1918, aged 25, he died of wounds received. He is commemorated at the Soissons Memorial, Aisne, France.
