Lance Corporal Albert George Evans MM   Print  E-mail

Although a Rushbury resident Albert George Evans, the son of Edwin and Fanny Evans and the brother of Elsie and Edith, is commemorated on his sisters gravestone in St Andrew’s churchyard. Elsie and Edith Evans' gravestone in St Andrew’s churchyard.

At the time of his enlistment, in Much Wenloch, he gave his address as Rushbury Church. However, although his family were Rushbury residents they worshipped at St. Andrew's Church, Hope Bowdler.

On April 16th 1918, aged 22, he died of wounds in France.

He is buried in the Haringhe (Bandagheim) Military Cemetery, France. Grave No. I.E.17.
