John Hope Clark was born on 21st August 1910.
On the 26th January 1943, aged 32, whilst returning from OPS over France, and piloting a Wellington III aircraft, he attempted a landing at R.A.F. Wytton (Huntingdonshire). R.A.F. records state: 'Coned in search lights, fired distress flares, went into blind dive.'
Flight Lieutenant Clark's grave can be found in the southern churchyard of St. Andrew's Church. |
