Charles Henry Davies was born in Church Stretton and lived at Chelmick. He enlisted in Shrewsbury.

On the 2^nd June 1918 he died of wounds received, during the build-up to the second battle of Marne.

He is buried in Chalons-Sur-Marne East Cemetery, Marne, France. Grave No. 763. He is also commemorated on the family grave in St. Andrew’s churchyard.
