Edwin Harley was born in Hope Bowdler and lived at No. 6 Soudley.

Edwin Harley enlisted at Shrewsbury.

On the 29^th April 1918, aged 18 he was killed in action. He is buried in White House Cemetery, near the village of St. Jan, north east of Ypres in West Flanders. Grave No. IV. A. 52. He is also commemorated on a headstone in St. Andrew's churchyard.
